KFP:The Master and Warrior Chapter 8

Tigress's reaction

Tigress heard footsteps in the grass, turned and saw Po.

"I bet you can't believe it, huh? Me…being a mother and the baby's father isn't here." She said softly.

"Well, Tigress…I need to tell something." He decided to tell her and get it over with.

She looked in confusion as he reached into his pocket, he held the deep red, polished stone.

"I am Pei Tong, I used the Shift Stone. See?"

Holding the stone, he turned to a black and white tiger then back into himself.

"I just wanted you to know that I like you and don't feel bad that you like me, too."

She just stared as he talked.

"Now we're having a cub. We like each other so much that we can be a family." He finished and saw no change in her face.

"Tigress?"

She turned away, talking in a shaky sobbing voice.

"You…"

Po leaned closer; Tigress's face grew angry with baring teeth under a slight growl.

"You LIED TO ME!"

She then extended her claws, ready to scratch his face. He jumped back, and barely missed her kick to the abdomen.

"You just made yourself look different so you could get close and hurt me!" She yelled as she fought and Po dodged every attack in fear.

"Whoa." Barely missing a punch.

"No, Tigress I-"

A quick mid-air kick sent Po into the air, tumbling down a hill. He saw her silhouette in the moonlight and her angry eyes glew yellow and amber. He moved before she could pound him into the ground.

"Tigress, I love you and I would never hurt you." He yelled in pleading.

"Too late!" As she was ready to strike, a sudden jolt knocked her down. Po was surprised and saw Mantis jump onto her back. He used a chi block technique to prevent her from hurting Po and possibly to the baby.

"We heard yelling, you guys okay?" Mantis asked.

"I'm fine, thanks though." Po replied.

The other Five and Shifu lifted Tigress up, she breathed heavily.

"Po…I don't want to see you again. When this baby comes, you can come by and visit. But stay away from me or next time…Mantis or anyone won't be there to help."

The Five carried her away, Shifu stayed to talk with Po.

"Just give her some time, Po. She'll come around."

"But Master, she nearly tried to kill me."

"She's hurt that you lied. If she truly loves you, she'll ask for you. But in the meantime, I suggest to you leave the Jade Palace. We'll find you whenever we should need the Dragon Warrior."

Saddened, Po walked away and Shifu watched.

The panda could only hope that Tigress would forgive him and greet the new cub with love.
