KFP:The Master and Warrior Chapter 7

Po's surprise and dread

Morning in the Jade Palace, Tigress and Pei Tong stood near the Exterior doors.

"Well, Pei Tong. It was nice meeting you, and safe travels." Tigress said.

"You, too. Master Tigress." They bowed in respect, Pei Tong said his farewell to the others before leaving.

In the Valley, Pei Tong took the Shift stone out again. Focusing with it in his hand, the jolt of energy turned him back into a black and white panda. He decided to wait a few hours before going back up, so he headed back to Mr. Ping's Noodle Shop.

Po soon walked through the doors again as himself.

"Po, you're back." Monkey exclaimed.

"Yep, I'm back."

Tigress walked up to him,

"Good to see you, Po. Pei Tong told me what you told him, thanks."

Laughing as he spoke,

"Oh, no problem. You two get along okay?"

"You could say that…" she blushed slightly, and Po did too.

A few weeks later, Po noticed that Tigress was far hungrier than usual and wanting to eat whatever she could find. Po found her in the kitchen and stepped in as she ate.

"Tigress, are you alright?"

"Fine, why?" she said while scarfing down bean buns.

"Well, I eat when I'm upset. Are you upset…missing Pei Tong?"

"No, just hungry and no idea why."

"Come on, students. Time to train." Shifu called to them in the hall.

"Yes, Master." Tigress and Po followed.

The others performed well while training, but Tigress was slower than usual. Shifu soon noticed and commanded her to stop and let him examine her.

"What's wrong, Tigress?"

"Nothing, I'm hungry and I guess my hunger is slowing me down."

"Your belly is also being seen."

"Again, my hunger is doing this."

He stood on Oogway's staff, looked into her mouth, eyes and ears.

"Is your sense of hearing higher than usual?"

"Yes, and smelling. I can smell cooking food from the Valley."

"Hmm." He replied.

"What?"

"Did you and Pei Tong have a pleasant evening before he left?"

"Yes, we had dinner and that's it." Her eyes wondered as though she purposely left out the rest.

"Truly?" Shifu gazed.

"Why, Master?"

"Tigress…you're…" He paused and sighed.

"You're expecting." She gasped with the Five. Po was confused…

"She's expecting what? A message from someone?"

"No, Po. She's expecting to have a cub, she's going to be a mother."

"Then who's the Dad?" Crane asked.

Po's face widened in shock, knowing he was in for it.

Later that afternoon, Shifu recommended that Tigress should rest easy and eat healthy until the cub came. Po came to him for advice in the barracks while she was outside getting fresh air.

"Master Shifu, I didn't mean…"

"Well, congratulations. You're going to be a father, Po. I hope you got what you hoped for."

"But Master, I didn't mean to make her…you know…have a baby. Just see if she loved me…we had a nice night that…included…" his speech slowed and Shifu understood.

"You need to tell Tigress the truth, tell her you're Pei Tong and the father of the baby."

Po sighed,

"She may tear you to shreds, but at least now she may be slowed down." Shifu patted his arm.

"Good luck."

Po swallowed and looked out, Tigress was standing near the bamboo trees.

"Here I go…"

He nervously walked towards her, dreading every step.
